Siam Winery is situated near Samut Sakorn, 30 miles southwest of
Bangkok, in the viticultural area known as the 'floating vineyards'. Built in 1986 to produce a beverage favored by locals, SPY Winecooler, the owner and Managing Director, Chalerm Yoovidhya, soon realized that Thailand could make a wine to accompany its beloved cuisine. It's first brand "Chatemp" was launched in 1997 with the help of French oenologist Laurent Metgne-Toppin.
This wine has since won awards at prestigious competitions in
London and Lisboa. The premium brand Monsoon Valley", a blend of
Thai grapes with internationally known varietals, has been
successfully launched in Thailand in 2003. These wines are
exported to Germany, UK, Holland, France, Japan and now the USA!
